Daryl Lee Parnell

Daryl Lee Parnell of Greensburg, son of Betty Louella Curry Parnell of Adair County and the late Shively A. Parnell, was born on Sunday, March 6, 1949 in Barren County and departed this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was 75 years, three months, and six days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and deacon of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. He was a retired plant manager employed with Kimball International, Inc. and Wholesale Hardwood Interiors, Inc. for many years and enjoyed farming.

Survived by his wife of 53 years, Rebecca “Becky” Jones Parnell of Greensburg, having united in marriage on April 17, 1971.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Tonya Parnell Bolin and Donnie Bolin of Bowling Green; two sons and daughters-in-law, Derick and Angela Parnell of Somerset and Erick and Heather Parnell of Bowling Green; six grandchildren, Hannah Bolin and Hope Bolin of Bowling Green, Brylee Parnell and Caden Parnell of Somerset, and Lily Parnell and Emma Parnell of Bowling Green; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Seretta Parnell and Mark and Dayna Parnell all of Adair County; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Daryl Lee Parnell were held Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Harrods Fork Cemetery in Adair County. Bro. Greg Lockard and Bro. Larry Wisdom officiating.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Beech Grove Baptist Church which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were nephews, Ryan Parnell, Chris Parnell, Johnny Underwood, Gerald Ford, Rudy Jones, Joey Jones, Justin Jones, Jameson Wright, Don Stone, Travis Scott, Allen Ray and Logan Coomer. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Harris, Darren Kennon, Byron Larimore, Randy Bland, Barry Blakeman, Dean Antle, Wayne Pruyear, Ronald Curry, Mike Judd and all of the friends and co-workers from Greensburg Manufacturing and Wholesale Hardwood Interiors.
